In the context of the EU HORIZON project “CLIMED FRUIT”, a workshop on “The role of Operational Groups, for the adaptation of perennial crops to climate change” was held at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, on Thursday 24th of October 2024.
At the workshop, the establishment, the operation and the role of operational groups in Greece, for the mitigation of the adverse impacts of climate change on agriculture and the adaptation of perennial crops to climate change, were discussed. Acquired experience from innovative farming practices implementation, by established Operational Groups in the context of EIP-AGRI funding, were also presented.
Finally, the LIFE IGIC project was displayed, highlighting the benefits of Green Infrastructure development and sustainable farming practices application in olive orchards, for agroecosystem services provision and the adaptation of oliviculture to climate change.
