A visit at the olive orchards of LIFE IGIC in the context of the annual meeting of the EU project CLIMED-FRUIT

A visit to the olive orchards of the EU LIFE IGIC project, took place on Wednesday 24th of October 2024, in the context of the EU Horizon project CLIMED FRUIT.

Visitors from European countries (France, Italy, Portugal, Spain), working in the agricultural sector, were accompanied by members of the Laboratory of Oliviculture, Viticulture and Agroecological Production Systems (LOVAPS) to the olive orchards. A visit to Douloufakis winery was also part of the visiting schedule. Finally, a discussion related to the effects of climate change on perennial crops, olive and vine, had been held among the participants, to exchange knowledge and experience, on innovative farming practices and options, for the adaptation of perennial crops to climate change.
